Dean’s images were taken through a kaleidoscope held up to the edge of the camera lens. The variation of color and pattern came from the setting, mainly a garden with multiple species of flowers. Their multi-colored petals and leaves created great contrast, pattern, and unified color schemes. The abstract patterns and color create a disorienting feeling for the viewer.
