General Information

All students applying for acceptance in the Visual Arts, Media Arts, Theatre or Music Strands will submit a portfolio review or audition in April for the following school year.

The application due date is Wednesday, April 19th, 2023.

This is not an exclusionary process. Any student who passes the prerequisite course and fills out the application will be admitted. We think of this application process as the start of the student’s pre-professional training. It gives students the experience of applying to a program and organizing a portfolio or audition. Teachers are there to assist the students along the way.

The first step in the process is to sign up for the AAI class in your school schedule.  If you are not currently an Arcata High School or Six Rivers student, email jmauro@nohum.k12.ca.us and request an application and/or audition.

Students will be notified of acceptance into the program within two weeks after the deadline or submission.

Each applicant will be required to submit the following:

2. Transcript

3. Resume

4. Essay

5. Teacher Evaluation

6. Portfolio or audition
