The Redwood Art Association recently held a youth art exhibit that encompassed entries from high schools throughout the county.

144 pieces were entered, scored, and judged on the following criteria;

• Craftsmanship and Presentation
• Message and Creativity
• Artistic Foundation, understanding of the Principles and Elements of Art and Design.

Entires were divided into six respective categories;

• Painting
• Drawing
• Photography
• Pottery
• Sculpture
• Digital Art

Each category awarding best in group with a final award of best in show.

Painting – 42 total entries

1^st Place – Sierra Bennett / AHS / “Wonderwhale”/ Ink/Watercolor

Drawing – 34 total entries

1^st Place – Camilla Montoya / AHS / “Archeress” / Graphite

2^nd Place – Sierra Bennett / AHS / “Telescope Tale”/ Pen

Digital Art – 11 total entries

Honorable Mention – Janie Mendosa / AHS / “Blue Lady” / Digital Print

Photography – 14 total entries

1^st Place – Mary Burns / AHS / “The Rise of Flames”/ Photography
