Are your walls bare? Are you in need of fresh new art on your walls at home or in the office? Do you like supporting local artists and emerging artists?
If you answered yes to any of these questions you may want to participate in
this year’s CSA!
Over the last 20 years, Community Supported Agriculture has become a popular way for consumers to buy seasonal food directly from local farms. With the same buy-direct, buy-local spirit in mind, Community Supported Art (CSA), an exciting new model of art support and distribution, was created to encourage local art, artists, and collectors.
CSA provides art for shareholders in a series of three deliveries between March and May. Each of CSA’s 20 shares sell for $200 each. Each monthly delivery will include artwork from featured established artists and several pieces artwork from emerging AAI artists. Shareholders will be able to select from Group A or Group B. Group A shareholders will receive the artwork of Alan Sanborn, Libby George, and Donovan Clark. Group B Shareholders will receive the work of Joyce Jonte, Myopia Press and Tim Clewell. The third CSA delivery will take place during Arts! Arcata in May where shareholders will be able to meet all of the featured CSA artists.
The CSA is one of Arcata Arts Institute’s biggest fundraisers. By participating in this year’s CSA you are ensuring that students have adequate art supplies. You are also helping to bring artist experts into the classroom to teach our students, enriching our students’ art-making experiences.
